Following the lifting of the four-week lockdown in England and confirmation that the Midlands will be part of a Tier 3 lockdown – Very High alert, as from 2nd December, the pattern of services at Old Church will change in line with the guidelines. Services for weddings and funerals are permitted although there are limitations on numbers – up to 15 people can attend wedding ceremonies and up to 30 people can attend funerals. You are advised to speak to your Funeral Director or to the Vicar of Old Church, the Reverend Deb Buckley.
Sunday morning services from 6th December will now take place in church with services at 9.00 am and at 11.00 am. The numbers allowed for each service are limited. Members of the congregation will be expected to hand sanitise, wear face-masks during their times in church and respect social distancing measures. If you are hoping to attend one of these services, please contact either the Vicar, the Reverend Deb Buckley, or the Parish Administrator, Gill Gould, firstname.lastname@example.org , 07824 368584. Other Sunday Services will continue to be held on Zoom for the time being. The Zoom access details remain the same weekly. The service sheets are available on Old Church WhatsApp.

November 29th is Advent Sunday, the first Sunday in the church year and the time when we are encouraged to reflect on the Nativity of Christ at Christmas, God incarnate. It is also a time to think about the Kingdom of God and God’s return. The name ‘Advent’ comes from the Latin adventus meaning coming, in Greek parousia, the word used in the New Testament to refer to the Second Coming of Christ. So, Advent brings together a birth in a country far from here some two thousand years ago, the faith that Jesus is with us now, and His return. Following the change in pandemic lockdown, as from December 6th, our Sunday morning services will be held in Old Church. You will find the details above. Sunday Evening services continue on Zoom at 5.00 pm. The Zoom access details can be found above. This is the service sheet for Evening Prayer in Advent and Christmas.
We invite you to join us for a Monthly Prayer Meeting on Zoom, to be held on the last Thursday in the month at 7.00 pm. Click on the link to find further details. In addition, Old Church is now open for Private Prayer on Thursday morning. Please click the link to find the details.
