Our Baptism Policy
At Old Church we believe that baptism is a gift freely offered to all who desire it, at any age. The really important thing is that you believe it is the right thing to do. Baptism marks a new start; a decision to follow Jesus Christ within the family of the Church.
Bookings for Baptism are taken at the 10.15 a.m. service held on the first Sunday of each month. After the service, you will be invited to the Dorothy Parkes Centre for refreshments and to discuss and complete the booking form with a member of our Baptism team. At least one member of our Baptism team is usually involved with a home visit, to offer support with preparation, rehearsal and during the service itself.
Once you have booked the Baptism, you will be invited to attend an All-Age Service at 10.15 a.m. on the Second Sunday of the month. After this service, you will be talked through the Baptism service. Most Baptisms take place on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 12.15 p.m..
If you would like to discuss Baptism, please use the form on the Contact page, or speak directly to The Reverend Deb Buckley or to either Christine Tanner, 0121 544 4626 or Wendy Sorby, 07582 930 315 who will be delighted to go through the details with you and answer any questions you may have.
